Anyone know of or have a set of restorable/fixable wheels for my new project? These are the white spokers from late 40's and FJ60's (chrome on fj60's, but you can have them de-chromed or powder coated to look like 40 series white spokes. I am thinking 3+ weeks ahead of myself, but am just...
Hello, Am likely going to buy that BJ that is up in Morgan (so please don't ninja it from me, ha ha ha :-)) What originally came under the hood of an 81 bj42? Was it the standard B engine? Thanks!
Hi everyone. A few weeks ago I installed the OME suspension on my truck. As I was applying the final torque to bolts that secure the lower control arms to the spindle with my cheap, bar-type torque wrench, I began to worry about how inaccurate that particular type of wrench is. Visions of my...
I'm currently flat out with a messed up back...but trying to work contingencies if I can't continue to fly (at least for a bit). Most likely I'm going to downgrade to F/O (which will give the required relative seniority to hold better schedules) as flying 5 4-day trips a month in crappy, worn...
Hey all... A few Cruise Moabs ago I won a skid plate for an 80, but never got around to putting on and posting up pics. until today.... also note my two helpers.... and Brian, who did 99% of the work, while I distracted the smaller helpers
Ok, a few months ago I bought a 1971 fj40, from a fellow that had it parked for what I think is years. It was running fine when i bought it, but then I drove it a little off road nothing to intense, however afterwards it would no longer idle. Now i find myself revving the engine just so I don't...
It is time to buy my son a car and I would like to get him an older Land Cruiser if possible. He really like the body style of the 1994 models. Any thing I should know about this year before I start looking? Any issues with them? In your opinion, is there a better year to look for? Any advice or...
It took me and a friend around 3 hours, but it's on. Thanks again to Kurt, you're a scholar and a gentleman:hi5 Next comes the winch. Heres Some Pictures: http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q13/StarCircle/DSCN1966.jpg
Issue: Steering wheel is off center. Requires a constant correction to the right (way off) to drive straight. New tires in May. BFG AT in the 285 flavor. At a shop I don't normally use. Noticed the steering problem (wasn't there before the new tires) and had an alignment done by Big O in...
Ok I was out yesterday on a trail SE of Brigham City an having a good time. But while climbing up a pretty steep trail I hit a bump an placed the 40 in a very scary balancing act. Was able to get her back on the trail but not before breaking the 3/8 steel cable. So now I am not sure what to replace...
So I ordered a carb rebuild kit from SOR and it came with both high and low altitude jets. I have heard people say I should have a machinist drill the high altitude out to an in between size. Has anyone here done this? What soze did you go to? Help would be appreciated.
I know we have some firefighters on the forum, and have discussed safety at tech nights. But after receiving some free real-world training yesterday I wanted to take it a step further than that - and encourage everyone to practice how to quickly and safely deploy their various fire suppression...
I've always loved this video - wish I could find it in higher resolution. I am not a huge fan and usually shut if off when it says "New Cruiser" about half way through, but I still love the video. (I usually turn off the sound too). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pc9q_QHtbCE&feature=related...
Candace and I have slowly been gathering parts for her FJ45 LWB pickup, its not it bad overall condition, pretty straight, no rot, runs, drives, etc. However it needs a ton of cosmetic items and a couple of new panels. Tracking them down can be a chore in itself, let along paying for them....
Hello, Back half of my exhaust was in rough shape so I removed all the bad piping. It now ends about under the driver seat. I just need it to be attached there and then go out the rear driver side with a 90 degree bend. Had this done on another cruiser and was about 100 bucks. Anyone...

Greetings... the keys for our 99 hundie are getting worn and pretty beat up, Anyone ever replaced their keys before? They have the build in FOB, so I imagine this is going to hurt :(
I'm trying to fiqure out what product to recoat my sliders with since the duplicolor liner is crap (just doesn't hold up very well). So I'm trying to decided whether to go with POR-15 or Herculiner. What would you all suggest? Can you even get POR-15 locally? I can get herculiner at the...
I don't have pics yet. I will get some soon. Fully restored, Dark green. Metal side-mount gas cans, doesn't appear to be lifted. Lady driver. Parked at Millrock office complex (3615 Millrock) where our business is currently located. Makes my jaw drop every time I see it. Looks...
Well, would like to say it was cheap - but it was not, although a great deal considering what the PO put into it. Found it earlier in the week, spoke to the owner on Thursday, headed to Denver on Friday, arriving at 8:30pm, picked up the trailer and drove home (got back about 7:00am) - 16 hours of...
