Hello folks!
Well I am getting all moved in.....and just have one question. Can we fire whoever is in charge of water purification? The water here is horrible. Maybe it's just that Colorado has clean water....I have no clue but good grief, it's like they mix in 1 part chalky crappiness to 2 parts water!
All of the faucets, shower heads, dishwasher, etc... all have massive buildup. The heating element in the dishwasher had 1/8" thick build-up on it and smelled awful. I asked my neigboor and he said "yep, water sucks here - you'll need a home-wide filtration system."
Well, from what I can tell, there goes another grand.....
Otherwise, I love the area and can't wait to get my cruiser out here (3 weeks and I fly to Colorado and drive her back). This area is really pretty, I am sure it's taken for granted living here over time....but it really is a pretty valley.
Hope you guys are all doing well. Anyone have a lead on a house-wide filtration/RO system?

Is it really crappy water or just hardness. I know Highland's water is pretty hard and I get buildup in pretty short order without the softener. We purchased our 5600SXT 64K grain system at qualitywaterforless.com. Good prices and extremely fast shipping. They also sell RO systems.
we have some of the hardest water in the country. just the way it is when you pull all your water from wells in a desert.
water filtration will get the particulates, which arent high, an activated carbon filter will kill the chlorine and most of the iron, but a softner will kill all the hardness. shop around, theres lots of solutions out there. i would suggest going with the carbon filter set up first and see if you are ok with it since softners arent cheap.
You were spoiled with the tap water in Colorado. Best in the country. I went through the same thing when i moved here. The snows better though![]()
